Letter From The President
Dear delegates,
Welcome to the distinguished AISMUN XXI: Renaissance of Hope. My name is Isabella Ávila, and I am honored to serve as the president of the Data Privacy Management Committee (DPM). I am truly excited to embark on this crucial journey with all of you, and I look forward to the insightful and impactful discussions that lie ahead.
The DPM Committee is tasked with addressing pressing issues surrounding data privacy, with a particular focus on the disturbing topic of pedophile networks facilitated through social media platforms. Specifically, we will be examining the case study of how Meta’s encrypted technology has been exploited to target minors. This issue presents complex challenges, including security breaches that place children in vulnerable situations and the urgent need for effective regulations to identify and address online predators.
Although DPM is not an official United Nations committee, the principles of diplomacy, respect, and constructive dialogue are at the heart of our work. Let us approach this issue with a spirit of cooperation and maintain a global perspective on the impact of our decisions.
This guide provides background information and essential guidance on data privacy and online safety. If you have any questions or need support, please do not hesitate to reach out. Your active participation and commitment are vital to our success. Together, let’s tackle this challenge with enthusiasm, respect, and dedication.
Warm regards,
Isabella Avila

The rise of social media platforms has brought unparalleled opportunities for communication, but it has also introduced significant risks, particularly for minors. Platforms like X, formerly known as Twitter, have also struggled to effectively monitor and mitigate harmful content, increasing the risks for young users. Encrypted technologies, while enhancing user privacy, have unfortunately been exploited by malicious actors, such as pedophile networks, who use these tools to target vulnerable children.
